Good Life Making is thrilled to be delivering a brand‑new creative programme for young people in Liskeard, made possible through the generous support of the Asda Foundation’s Young Futures grant. Together, we’re bringing six completely free pottery workshops to the Lighthouse Community Centre, home to fantastic weekly youth drop‑ins and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere.

Across these sessions, up to twelve young people aged 14–18 will have the chance to explore hand‑building techniques such as coiling, pinching, and slab construction. They can join us for the full six‑week journey or simply drop in whenever they’re able. Every session is designed to be warm, safe, and encouraging, giving young people space to try something new, express themselves, and build confidence.

Participants will create both functional and decorative pieces, mugs, trinket dishes, small sculptures, and more. Their work will be fired in the kiln, then glazed and finished by their own hands, resulting in something real, beautiful, and genuinely theirs to take home and be proud of.

Thanks to the Asda Foundation, all materials and facilitation are fully funded, ensuring the workshops remain completely free and accessible. Beyond learning new skills, this project will nurture wellbeing, reduce loneliness, and bring young people together through the grounding, therapeutic joy of clay.

We’re genuinely excited to share this creative space with them and to watch their ideas come to life.
