Callington’s 2-Year Pottery Project
Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund

We’re excited to launch a 24-month project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, bringing free pottery workshops to Callington! Twice a month, we’ll run sessions at the local Library, giving people a chance to get creative, learn new skills, and meet others in a relaxed, welcoming space.
Over the two years, we’ll deliver 48 workshops:
38 adult sessions during term time
10 children’s sessions in school holidays
The holiday workshops will be extra special—they’ll encourage families to create together, making it a fun, intergenerational experience. In year one, we’ll work on a community mural and host an annual exhibition to celebrate everyone’s amazing creations.
Why is this important? Callington is a rural area where isolation and limited transport make it hard to access wellbeing activities. Our goal is simple: reduce loneliness, boost mental health, and help people feel part of something positive. Working with clay is calming, hands-on, and great for confidence. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to discover a new hobby!
We’ll promote the project through libraries, community hubs, and social prescribers. Everyone is welcome—while we focus on supporting people with mental health challenges, these sessions are open to all. We’ll measure impact through feedback and stories, making sure we keep improving.
This project builds on our successful Clay Club sessions and strong partnerships with local venues. Thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, we can make this happen and bring creativity and connection to our community.
